All As One wants to enlist innovative and excited teachers, students, parents, and school administrators to participate in our Children Caring About Children Project, designed to encourage generosity and humanitarianism in students, while benefiting orphaned and destitute children of Sierra Leone in the process.  By becoming involved in this effort, students from your school will be presented with valuable opportunities for character growth and development on many levels, while fostering new friendships and learning about another beautiful and rich culture.

After joining the project, your school or classroom will be provided with a CD filled with photos of many of the children you will be helping, as well as some pictures of the Children's Center and Sierra Leone.  You will receive monthly updates via our Newsletter, which features news on the Center, letters from Deanna Wallace, AAO’s Executive Director and Founder, as well as profiles of classrooms participating in the Children Caring About Children Project.

Voluntary donations of spare change can be collected and contributed by the students, in hopes of reaching $1 a day, or classrooms might brainstorm creative fundraising ideas for the kids of All As One.  (500 sponsorships of $1 per day, for a year, would cover the entire operating budget for the Children’s Center!)  Students can raise awareness for the Center and about the situation in Sierra Leone, by sharing information about All As One with their familes, friends or even local media.

Teachers will also have the opportunity to creatively incorporate the All As One Children’s Center and Sierra Leone into their lessons.  Involvement in the sponsorship program can also be used to teach students letter-writing, Social Studies, Geography, simple accounting, and the basics principles of philanthropy.

Through this sponsorship, students will have the opportunity to experience caring and concern for their peers across the globe.  Their eyes will be opened to a world bigger than their own.  In a time when advertisements for the latest toys are bombarding children in developed countries, this will provide awareness of those less fortunate, as well as a chance to practice generosity.

Please contact All As One at schools@allasone.org if you would like to participate in this project as a school or as an individual classroom.
